SELF-HYPNOSIS
Initially, it’s easier to state what hypnosis is not; it is not sleep, it is not a lack of will power, it’s not mind control, it is not an alternative practice it was accepted into the American Medical Association since the mid 1950’s. It is an intense focus on something like a campfire, a book or a movie.It is an opening of your subconscious mind which voids out your conscious mind. Your subconscious mind doesn’t think, make decisions or make judgements, etc. subconscious does accept suggestions but can also reject the same. Most importantly, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. If you won’t allow yourself to go into a hypnotic state, then you won’t go into a hypnotic state. The hypnotist is but a guide helping you get into the state of hypnosis.
Self-hypnosis will allow you to get into a calm, relaxing state and then utilize that state of mind to do a multitude of tasks, for instance, eliminating or significantly decreasing stage fright, study more effectively, turn down that triple banana split and a host of other things. Or it could be achieving peace of mind and a calmness that in today’s world is quite an achievement.
